Basti Ram was founded in 2010 to provide fundraising and administrative support to linked our organisations in India as well as recruiting more passionate volunteers to assist in schools, orphanages and in healthcare programmes.
We are currently developing exciting new projects which will see volunteers participating in a wide range of specialist activities, from teaching photography to learning yoga. In addition we also run programmes which give people from disadvantaged communities in the UK the chance to go to India and volunteer in our schools programme.
Our work in India focuses on facilitating education and healthcare projects in underprivileged communities around in the rural areas around Jaipur and Udaipur, cities in the Northern state of Rajasthan. We aim to empower and give skills to people from these communities enabling them to improve the life chances for themselves and their children.
